Concert of Baroque and Contemporary Academic Music

On February 3, 2016, the Vadim Sidur Museum will host a concert of the Kymatic [New Meditative Music Ensemble] featuring Darina Ablogina (flute), Alina Petrova (viola), Anton Izgagin (double bass), Ivan Drevalev (piano), Alexei Chichilin (guitar), and Daria Vorontsova. The ensemble will perform Baroque pieces by Johann Sebastian Bach and contemporary academic music of the 20th century by Sofia Gubaidulina, Toru Takemitsu and other composers.

Kymatic [New Meditative Music Ensemble]:

Anton Izgagin is a multi-instrumentalist and improviser, a member of the cast of The Drillalians opera at the Stanislavsky Electrotheatre and a participant of the Dancing on TNT TV series as an improviser on viola da gamba.

Darina Ablogina is a winner of international competitions in Bulgaria and Lithuania. She studied at the Historical and Contemporary Performance Department of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory and at the Department of Modern and Baroque flute of the University of Troms? in Norway.

Daria Vorontsova graduated from the Gnessin State Musical College (piano) and joined the Claris Verbis ensemble of early music. She won the prize of the 2012 international festival in Ruza.

Ivan Drevalev is an alumnus of the Gnessin Specialized Secondary Music School (class of Pr. Arzamanova), an award-winner of the 7th Russian-Polish festival Youth plays Chopin, a participant of the Chopin, Schumann, and Beethoven festivals in Moscow. He composes academic and experimental electronic music.

Alexei Chichilin is an award and prize winner of international classical guitar competitions. He has worked with many participants of the Moscow avant-garde scene. The majority of non-academic projects he features in center on free spontaneous performance combining the guitar classics experience and extreme methods of sound production with elements of contemporary academic classics and new jazz.

Alina Petrova is a student of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory (class of Pr. L. Shubina) and a member of the Moscow Conservatory Symphony Orchestra. She participated in the Beethoven festival in Vienna, the Gesualdo Festival in Venosa (Italy), the Boccherini festival in Lucca (Italy) and the IMPULS festival of contemporary music.
