Up Above Moscow is a cycle of music nights in a most advantageous location offering unique views of Moscow. In warm seasons, the performances are staged on the rooftop of the Worker and Kolkhoz Woman pavilion, at the footing of the iconic 24-meter sculpture. The organizer of the project is the Manege Unit.
Rooftop Jazz Program: Live People Ensemble

Live People Ensemble is one of the brightest &entries of the contemporary jazz scene. Their main direction over the years has been contemporary conceptual jazz building on the best traditions of European intellectual music.
The band’s exquisite sound palettes, the unusual formal approach and the original new philosophy make their music a unique phenomenon on the national scene. The band performs pieces composed by its leader Natalia Skvortsova, the famous Moscow-based pianist and composer. The band’s programs feature unique arrangements of jazz standards and original intellectual music. The project was launched in 2009 and has been since joined by most diverse musicians sharing the common interest in the art of Natalia Skvortsova.
Live People Ensemble are permanent residents of the best Russian jazz clubs and participants and winners of many prestigious festivals including Usadba Jazz, Jazz Koktebel, Jazz May, Gnesin Jazz, Radio 1jazz.ru Festival and many others. The band has worked actively with the FANCYMUSIC label and counts three albums: Dvizhenie (Movement, 2013), Novye Goroda (New Cities, 2013), and Ploskosti (Plain Surfaces, November 2015).
